When we started

The first occupational therapist in Nepal was Lyndal Henry, a volunteer from New Zeland. She arrived here in 1985 and since then, many expats have come to work as short or long terms, as well as recently nationals started to go abroad searching for qualifications to come back and continue to spread their skills around the country.

As a professional body, we first met in 2008 as an attempting to get to know each other and join hands to strengthen the profession. Since then, we’ve been meeting every 6 months to share experiences, organize and register the association and we encourage others to join us.

P.S.: sadly we don’t have any photos from 2nd and 3rd Forums. They had 6 participants each and they took place on November 2008 at Handicap International/KTM and May 2009 at HDCS/KTM respectively.

And that’s it until now, july 2012. Ten meetings already organized and still a long road to go. We are longing for a beautiful and successfull sotry to be written in this country towards Occupational Therapy practice.
