Following the devastating earthquake, Ministry of Heath and Population (MOHP), Government of Nepal starting to coordinate the emergency response through collaboration with various actors in Nepal. To support the rehabilitation of people injured due to the earthquake, all the actors working in rehabilitation were invited to participate in the periodic meeting of the Injury & Rehabilitation sub cluster under the Health cluster. This group was jointly coordinated by the newly formed Disability Focal Unit of Leprosy Control Division, MOHP & WHO.
The objective of the sub cluster was to coordinate the rehabilitation services at the hospitals, step down facilities, rehabilitation centers and districts hospitals.
Association of Nepal’s Occupational Therapists (ANOT) was invited to the sub cluster meeting to provide their technical expertise to the various organizations working in the rehabilitation services along with other two professional associations (PT-NEPTA & P&O-POS Nepal).
ANOT was represented in the sub cluster meeting by Pushpak Newar, President ANOT and Keshab Sitaula, Treasurer ANOT.
